Ohio was the first state to license the practice of massage, issuing the first applicant’s license in 1916. Ohio considers massage therapy a “limited branch of the practice of medicine.” The state of Ohio requires individuals who practice massage therapy to receive Board Certification. Studies for the 750 hour program include anatomy & physiology of the human body, massage theory, practical massage techniques, as well as business law and ethics. Achievement of this credential is of the highest obtainable level in the profession. The staff at Simply Massage, LLC are Licensed Massage Therapists licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio
